Blog- its been awhile

So it has been a while since i blogged on here. Most of that is because i have been busy working two part time jobs and starting a class back in school. but i also  re-built a website for my  @Eastvalleyinfo project. Which is a support site for local businesses and events. The new website is WWW.Eastvinfo.com . I hope everyone that follows me locally will check it out it is still growing. The events calendar is still not where i want it.

I post on that site also but have little following there yet. check it out if you have a chance.

So i just noticed that i forgot to blog in months. that is not good but at least it has been long enough that i have a few things to say.

Me personally have being kept busy by working and social networking. i have been doing the 2nd Friday events in Mesa. My wife and daughter are going to California for my oldest step-daughter’s wedding. Bought my wife a small digital camera to play with while see is there. Because of work ,school and my paycheck. i’ll be staying home 😦

But i will be going back to school (a tech class) starting this Tuesday. Yes, i’m scared. lol

For my books: I’m still trying to write but  because of my schedule. it has slowed down, Alot.  At last estimate the draft will be done in about 300 days. that has alot of room to change so don’t worry that it won’t happen. this new series has a lot of room to grow. Massive room for new characters. the first book name is : Like Father, Like Son . i’m about 1/5 of the way done. but the cover is almost done and should be ready to show soon.

Do i think i’ll have it done by PHXCC14. No. but that is not a solid no . you never no i might have a good weekend and write 5 to 10k. If my job changes and my nights are freed up i might be able to push this time line faster.

also on book projects. I’m making some changes the Native Protectors series will slow down alot.  i’m going to be redoing the Spirit Lance book and merging it with the short story ROTH (Rise Of The Harkon) this new book will be edited and re-covered as Spirit Lance Fusion.

@EastValleyinfo My social Networking project is moving slowly i gain a few new followers after every event i do. for the people that don’t know . I started this project a little while back to support friends and groups in the east Valley (Mesa.Tempe, Gilbert, Chandler, AJ) i go to events take pictures and post them to help bring attention to the people and event. and i really enjoy doing it but it is a slow process for me.  i started just pushing KNTR, WesternX. But now it has grown to supporting the 2nd Friday event in Mesa. and the Doublewide Network (owned by Dave Pratt).

I also support a friend that i had been following for a little while named Ed Vanderlee (Owner of the Arizona Roughriders ) which work at Rawhide, when he started two internet radio projects. Rawhide Radio which Airs every Sunday at noon on the Doublewide Network. and LowRent Radio with his co-host Craig Hiess. also in the studio with him is Josh Pillsbury and Jared Bernal with BluRay Rewind. And social girl Amanda Saucedawhich is sponsored by Beyond Technology Solutions

so that’s it for now. check out the books. check out my friends.

So in the near future i have a few plans. i hope to go take pictures at my friends internet radio show Low Rent Radio. First day off monday- friday. lol i hope. This show is aired monday – Friday at 4 P.M. Ed Vanderlee and Craig Heiss. Ed can be followed on twitter here. they also can be liked on FaceBook here.

Next Month i will enjoying myself at the Kids Need To Read  Kids Need to Read Cajun Crawfish Boil Charité, with Chef Sauce Boss (Who Dat!?) on April 6th in Mesa.

Then on the April 20th. i’ll be with the Arizona Browncoats up on the Dolly steamboat tour

Then is May will be my Mini vacation. PHXCC13

A bit of info of where i will be hangin .

Also in Oct. I will be at the BrownCoat Ball. Held in Phoenix this year are you Going?

So the last week was a good week. on Sunday i launched my revamped website Smashtowerbooks.com . i added a few features . the twitter feed a button to my blog. buttons to my other networks. info on my projects. and since my new DSLR is in the mail. i’ll be posting alot more pics. and since the website is easy to work on i’ll be making changes all the time. Woot!!!!

Rise OF The Harkon is now released. and on Amazon and @eprintedbooks.com . I’m not sure if i wish to pup it on Smashwords or not since Spirit Lance was so hard to add to their site and low sales. But i will most likely add it to Kobo.

Now my plan is to work on Spirit Lance Fusion. Which will be the combination of both stories. and maybe a little new content. i’ll also be working on Like Father, Like Son which i hope to be a big hit. Like Father ,Like Son i hope to be at least 18 books long not including short stories.

and also PHXCC13 is coming and i hope to get lots of pics with my new camera. Sweet!!!!

that is my little news update.

This last week.

Ok this last week was kind of a good week. i had a day off work that was great. that was a PRO. CON I spent money. But it was worth it. I attended a YA writers workshop downtown at Dobson High School. put on by Changing Hands Bookstore.

I got the chance to listen to the advice of veteran authors tell about their tales and information on how to be a successful author.  now remember i’m not a big reader myself. but a few of these authors i have great respect for as authors, people in the community , and for the skill at what they do.

Laura Ellen, James A. Owen, Amy Fellner Dominy, C.J. Hill
(aka Janette Rallison), Cecil Castellucci , Tom Leveen , Suzanne Young , Shannon Messenger , Erin Jade Lange , Suzanne Lazear

This event was very good for me and i really should take more as they pop-up. i got the chance to say Hi to James Owens again which is always good. and had a chance to chat to Tom Leveen and he was quite informative. and always a joy to talk too. i met other talented authors. and added them to my facebook to keep in touch and informed.

This week i hope to see my book cover, being worked on by @printedbooks.com. And if everything goes well publish ROTH- Rise Of The Harkon. my first short story in the Native Protector Series. This short story is the Harena point of view from the side of Tripper a young Harena. and i’m working on Talon’s Tale. Which will be the second short story in this chain.

i also hope to launch my new website soon hopefully in the next few weeks. or sooner.

Also this week i hope to order my new DSLR camera. Which will mean more pictures. i know that i write short blogs but i got to get back to the plan.

Chat soon.

Blog- Yesterday

Yesterday i had a headache and have had one for a few days. but there could be many causes.

1.one my glasses need to be replaced.

2. stress from bills

3. stress from knowing i want to do 2 major events this next year as a helper or as a patron. (Full event passes and room stay.)one event is still a secret. but will be announced soon and the other is PHXCC13.

on a good note my book is now on Smashwords but under review. no clue how long this will take to be done.(Stress again)

Good note again- i worked on a new book series plot and worked on editing Rise Of  The Harkon.

Good note again ,again- will start working on the second short story today. this one and Rise Of The Harkon will be fused with Spirit lance down the road. i hope to print that book into a hard copy and sell it off the website.

just a few notes. enjoy your day.

So i have not posted a blog in a long while. and there is some reasons for this. I’m a new author and i’m thin skin about my writing. i have never said that i was the greatest writer in the world.  I like to see my stories in print. i like the idea that someone else way enjoy my stories. I had a bad review and it took the wind out of my sails for a bit. and it did not help that my friends that have been editing my books. are not helping much. So i have started searching for a few local people that can help.

My first book has done poorly in sales but i expected that so. it is depressing that i’m not selling books like R.A.Salvatore . My stories are getting out there. About 700-800 copies of my book are out there. so i’m happy about that. Spirit Lance and the Native Protectors series will continue. but i think much slower. I have also changed my plans slightly. Rise Of The Harkon is written but not edited. i’m working on that now. It will be released when it is ready. i also started working on a second short story. Rise Of The Harkon and the second short story will be released individuality for around .99 cents. but i hope to fuse all three. Spirit Lance and Rise Of The Harkon and the new short in to one book called Spirit Lance Fusion.  And i hope to have this book in print (Hard Copy) being sold on my web site when it is finished.

I still have many book ideas in the works. i expect most will be like Spirit Lance (Short books). I will be writing many short stories or companion stories to go with the short books. Many maybe asking why don’t you just write longer books. I have a short attention span. i will try to plot out a book as best as i can. I will give myself goals and i will push to finish them. But in most cases i rush. i hope to cure this problem but it is a work in progress. Moving on to Gaming.

Gaming- I play Guild Wars 2.  My guild has about 15 players. And a few of us like to play World Vs World or PVP or RVR. how ever you like to think of it. i enjoy the PVP. This play is close to a game i used to play called Dark Ages Of Camelot. Many people think that the maps in PVP are too small and i agree to a point. it take a long time to run back where you were. to join your friends. i wish all keeps and supply camps had portals for the controlling forces. making it a little easier to get back in the game.

Local events and Podcasts- I’m a big fan and supporter of Western X. A web series that is filmed locally here in Arizona. The production campany Cazador Productions has several  projects in the works. they will be doing 24/7 internet radio soon which will be very good to listen to with some of the shows that they already have. Recently i was given the opportunity to record a podcast with Western X creator Michael Flores. This episode he is joined by Thomas Hinman (Film Composer), Actor David Staley and fans Robert Tabb (me) and Clint Felton. Called Weird West Radio. In this show Micheal mentioned a show on Cable Called Hell On Wheels . Which got me interested in the show. thank you Michael for that. i have watched all of the shows now and are all caught up. Sweet new one this weekend!!!

Well this the end of this posting for now but i hope that i caught you up on what i was doing recently. Hope to post again soon.

Later,

Robert Tabb

So i have mixed feelings about reviews. Some authors could not care about them at all. and some want feedback to see if we are getting the right story a crossed. I’m not going to say that i’m the best writer in the world. Hell no i’m a guy who wanted to tell a story, and in my case many stories. I like reviews , but at the same time don’t want to see a lot of negative remarks. so i’m going to try something different for me. i’m going to give my email here. and hope that people use it to let me know what they liked and did not like about my book so far.

Smashtowerbooks@gmail.com

i will going to a local event to support a few local authors at a new comic book store

So if you have read my book and liked or disliked it please send me a email and let me know in detail what you thought.

Blog- This week

Ok this week ion my live was very week. i had one interview. and they said we would not know till next Tuesday. and there maybe second interviews,. so i keep looking. but few jobs i sent resumes too. less calls for interviews.

The book only sold a few copies was not sure if that was because of the holiday or what. But a reviewer is going to read and hopefully post a review.

had a yard sale on Sat. and today. so far it has been an Epic fail. After today’s yard sale this all goes back into storage.  for the next one. Ok correction. the yard sale was not to bad.

After many many months of writing and having 2 editors work on the editing. i have released my Book. Spirit Lance the first book of the Native Protectors series is out.

While working on this project i have come up with many other book ideas and even lengthen this series to eight books as of now. i have a Author page on Amazon now which is pretty cool. Which is here. i hope that in about 90 days to have a short story and a fusion version of Spirit Lance. What that mean is the short story will be fused with spirit lance to give you a broader view of the galaxy I’ve created.

The second book in this series will out near the end of the year. then i’ll be working on a second series. The first book in that series to be out near the first of the year. I hope from that point to move to one series to the other series. at least 3 books a year. I am up to 34 book ideas as of right now. Many have not even been plotted yet. but most will be soon. with the first book done . I will be working on Series and book plots for a few weeks. then i’ll increase my work on the short story and the second book. and also be working on the first of my SteamPunk series. The SteamPunk series will be at least 12 books and maybe even larger. i see this series being massive. but we will see how the people like it first.

I also will be working on a second sci-fi series. a western series and a few Fantasy novels. and even thought a history of my life. but that would not come out for many years.

this should offer a small glimpse of what is coming in my writing.

And remember that some authors like my self work to help others also. A small portion of my income will be going to 5 different charities. the first on has already set in stone . Kids Need To Read (KNTR) 4 others will be decided later.

As my time frees up from having to work for others and able to spend more time on writing . I can spend more time supporting other Authors in the area. which is some thing i like to do.

Also i wanted to include a description of my first book and series:

A teenage native american boy Sam takes charge as he discovers there is more going on in space than he previously knew. An alien race war is brewing that threatens all life in the galaxy, and only he with the help of a few friends can stop them. Guided by a mysterious old man and a friendly alien comrade, Sam must muster all his courage to defeat an ancient enemy. With his sidearm “Lucy” on his hip, and his Browncoat on his back he leads them on a wild ride filled with action and adventure.
